Intro:
Despite her otherwise impressive background, Helen Ruan participated in two blockchain startups that supposedly raised funds through ICOs* (Initial coin offerings) and what many people believe was a well-orchestrated scam.

Interestingly, both of the companies ceased their operations and activities on social media soon after their promised launch, hence lot’s of people think that both of the companies deliberately scammed their investors. Helen Ruan was part of the the team in both cases as proven by the links listed below. 

The two companies mentioned above were Bitclave and Decracy. Yet, still anyone who visits the old ICO pages of both of the companies can see that Helen Ruan was part of the team. What is questionable and eye-opening is the fact that someone with a professional background as that of Helen Ruan, decided to form a team with 2 blockchain startups that eventually didn’t remotely follow through their announced plans and moreover, completely abandoned them after some time – after raising funds. Consequently, people who invested in those companies felt that they have been scammed. ICO scams were a common thing during those days.
